There is no unity among Dayak

Yes, you are right if you think that the Dayak communities in general are united at a long house level or district level. But at the leadership level, Dayak is so disunited that you can find a representative or leader in most political parties in Sarawak.
If MIC has a branch in Sarawak, you will probably find a Dayak in that party as well.
This lead to a request by Datuk William Mawan stressing for a unity among the Dayak communities but he conveniently forgot to mention unity among the Dayak leaders.
As a matter of fact, Dayak leaders put party interest first and their own communities later. Those leaders must report to their party presidents who are non-Dayak. Those leaders must get consent from their party president before any execution. Being non-Dayak, that party president could not entertain all the Dayak requests since he or she also needs to entertain requests from their own communities.
At the rate that we are going (if Dayak at all level are still disunited), we will always have a Dayak leader who is not quite a leader.
